Gaining support through social media.

The world has changed a lot in the last 10 years, and foremost in this is the rise of technology and social media platforms. For people with disabilities, digital platforms like Facebook and Twitter have given an opportunity to change norms, provide support and open the way for a better spread of resources, inclusion and acceptance that was not possible before.
In their book, Social Butterflies: Reclaiming the positive power of social networks, social scientists Michael Sanders and Susannnah Hume emphasize the power of social networks to enable positive experiences and behavior change in our work and society as a whole. This has become a very important factor in the digital era especially, where our personal decision-making has become increasingly influenced by our social instincts and the networks we maintain.
We have compiled a list of our favorite groups that support and network people with disabilities in South Africa . If you have any more groups to add to this list, send us an email at FormDevConsulting@gmail.com
